Windsor’s specialist instructors offer nationwide on-site training tailored to your requirements. Operators receive a working knowledge of the right equipment, in the right surroundings.
We also have our own in-house facilities in Immingham should you prefer to be off-site. All our instructors are highly experienced and committed to building confidence, developing skills and promoting safer working environments.
Accredited and Approved
Your certificate from us will state your Registration Number confirming you hold an ITSSAR ‘Trained Operators Passport Scheme’ (TOPS) or RTITB National Operators Registration Scheme (NORS) registration number.
This means that you, and your employer, can check and be confident that your training is fully compliant with current legislation and carried out to an approved standard.
Windsor Materials Handling are an ITSSAR and RTITB registered accredited company. We are headed by John Smith (who has had over 25 years’ experience as an instructor / examiner / tutor) and with his team of registered instructors, we are in a position to fulfil all your training requirements both on site nationwide, and at our purpose built facility in Immingham. Courses are available to both corporate and private individuals.
Types of Forklift Training Courses.
We offer the following four main types of course: Familiarisation and specific training is also available, as are bespoke courses on request.
Refresher Training: this is for previously trained and certificated operators on all types of equipment, usually a one – day course for a maximum of three candidates.
Conversion Training: this is for operators who are trained on a particular type of equipment, but who need to operate a different type of machine. i.e. a counterbalance fork lift operator who needs a conversion to reach truck.
Existing operator Training: This is for experienced but untrained operators who require formal training to meet with legislation.

The duration of courses and number of candidates is pre-determined by the awarding bodies – not the training company!

Validity of Training
The recently formed Accrediting Bodies Association (ABA) has implemented a mandatory database for all Mechanical Handling Equipment & Workplace Operators.
For ITSSAR the new scheme is called TOPs (Trained Operators Passport Scheme) and for RTITB it is called NORS. (national operators registration scheme)
Each operator is allocated a unique ID number
Look for this on your certificate of training, if it is not registered ask ‘why not?’
Anyone operating machinery must be trained to meet Health and Safety at Work requirements. The Provision & Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER) requires every employer to ensure anyone who uses work equipment has received adequate training and holds a Certificates of Basic Training, issued by an approved training provider, so to be qualified to operate machinery in a safe and efficient manner.
