The best investment in your people. All courses delivered sympathetically and professionally.

Windsor’s specialist instructors offer nationwide on-site training tailored to your requirements. Operators receive a working knowledge of the right equipment, in the right surroundings.

We also have our own in-house facilities in Immingham should you prefer to be off-site. All our instructors are highly experienced and committed to building confidence, developing skills and promoting safer working environments.

Accredited and Approved

Your certificate from us will state your Registration Number confirming you hold an ITSSAR ‘Trained Operators Passport Scheme’ (TOPS)  or RTITB National Operators Registration Scheme (NORS) registration number.

This means that you, and your employer, can check and be confident that your training is fully compliant with current legislation and carried out to an approved standard.

Refresher Training: this is for previously trained and certificated operators on all types of equipment, usually a one – day course for a maximum of three candidates.

Conversion Training: this is for operators who are trained on a particular type of equipment, but who need to operate a different type of machine. i.e. a counterbalance fork lift operator who needs a conversion to reach truck.

Existing operator Training: This is for experienced but untrained operators who require formal training to meet with legislation.

drivertraining@windsor-mh.co.ukNovice Training: This is for candidates with no previous knowledge or experience of materials handling equipment. These courses are three to five days depending on candidate numbers (maximum of three per course)

Number of candidates and duration of courses

The duration of courses and number of candidates is pre-determined by the awarding bodies – not the training company!

Types of equipment Training available

We cover a comprehensive range of equipment categories, and can also cover all your H&S requirements including first aid and safety passport on request.

Validity of Training

The recently formed Accrediting Bodies Association (ABA) has implemented a mandatory database for all Mechanical Handling Equipment & Workplace Operators.

For ITSSAR the new scheme is called TOPs (Trained Operators Passport Scheme) and for RTITB it is called NORS. (national operators registration scheme)

Each operator is allocated a unique ID number

Look for this on your certificate of training, if it is not registered ask ‘why not?’

The legalities:

Anyone operating machinery must be trained to meet Health and Safety at Work requirements. The Provision & Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER) requires every employer to ensure anyone who uses work equipment has received adequate training and holds a Certificates of Basic Training, issued by an approved training provider, so to be qualified to operate machinery in a safe and efficient manner.
